Dr. Keshav Deo

Dr. Keshav Deo is a distinguished pharmaceutical leader with extensive experience spanning research, process development, and manufacturing. Beginning his career at Lupin, he has held senior positions at leading organizations including Sun Pharma, Dai-Ichi Laboratories, Ranbaxy, Alembic, and Wockhardt.

A prolific innovator, Dr. Deo has over 450 global patent applications to his credit and serves on the boards of several Indian pharma companies. He is also a Scientific Advisor to Cempra Pharmaceutical Inc. and PDLH (USA) and an esteemed Ph.D. supervisor at multiple Indian universities.

In 2019, he founded Lifeactivus Private Limited to advance sustainable innovations in dietary supplements, complex generics, and industry-academia collaborations. Under his leadership, the company has filed 15 patents, registered 10 trademarks, and secured its first US patent. Notable breakthroughs include Lifevirotreat, an aerosol-based COVID-19 treatment, anti-aging solutions, and the development of Prussian Blue, a critical API for radio injury treatment and also serves as Executive Director at Almelo Private Limited

Dr. Deo holds a Ph.D. from the Central Drug Research Institute, Lucknow, under Dr. D.S. Bhakuni, and a master’s degree from Agra University. His research expertise spans chemo- and regioselective reductions, asymmetric catalysis, biocatalysis, and API process development-driving Lifeactivus’s vision for sustainable innovation in life sciences.


Prof. (Dr.) P.M.S. Chauhan is a distinguished scientist with over three decades of research excellence at CSIR-Central Drug Research Institute (CDRI), Lucknow, where he served as Chief Scientist and Professor (AcSIR). A first-division scholar, he earned his Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry from CDRI/Agra University in 1984.

His pioneering contributions to the design and synthesis of bioactive heterocycles have advanced the discovery of antitubercular, antimalarial, antileishmanial, and anticancer agents. With over 130 publications, six Indian patents, and 22 Ph.D. scholars mentored, he has played a pivotal role in shaping India’s medicinal chemistry landscape. His international research collaborations across leading institutions such as the University of Liverpool, RWTH Aachen, and the University of East Anglia, supported by prestigious fellowships including DAAD, have enriched his global scientific perspective. Recognized among the Top 2% Scientists Worldwide by Stanford University, he is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and serves on the editorial boards of leading journals.

As Founder and General Secretary of ISCB, Prof. Chauhan has been instrumental in fostering knowledge exchange, organizing impactful national and international conferences, and building bridges between academia and industry. His vision emphasizes strengthening research ecosystems, empowering young scientists through training and opportunities, and driving indigenous technological innovation to contribute to national progress.
